Fibre

For a healthy digestive system.

It is important to include fibre-rich foods in your diet. Potatoes are a source of insoluble fibre which helps to keep bowels healthy and prevent constipation. Foods rich in insoluble fibre are also more bulky which can help us feel full longer.

When you leave the skins on, potatoes are a great source of fibre. One medium potato gives about 3 grams of fibre which is around 10% of daily intake per serving.

There is more fibre in a baked potato eaten with its skin on than a sandwich made from two slices of wholemeal bread.

One medium potato gives around 10% of daily fibre intake per serving.
